Freeport Community Library features work by local artists, exhibited in the main stacks and reading area. Each month a different artist or group of artists is featured. In January, digital paintings and illustrations by Zach Cunningham will be on display. In February the artists of the Art Guild of Freeport return for their annual exhibit. Check it out during the library’s regular hours!
About Zach Cunningham: Cunningham, who sometimes works under the anagram moniker Chaz the Bug, is an illustrator, comics artist and graphic designer living in Portland, Maine. His lines are bold, bulbous, erratic, sharp. His subjects are often impish and always entertaining. Cunningham’s work is visible all over the Old Port via flyers for local shows and for the comics zine he co-runs, One Page Stinkers. Other than on telephone poles and in comic books, his work has recently been featured in the Infinite Canvas show at Kimball Street Studios and the Hi-Fi 80s Music Tribute show at Pinecone and Chickadee. The prints on show at the library will be available for purchase through the artist. Cunningham’s website: chazthebug.com.
