Freeport Arts & Cultural Alliance hosted public meetings on September 25 and October 19 at Freeport Middle School to present results from the recent public surveys and craft goals, objectives and strategies to be included in the Freeport Cultural Plan. Our thanks to everyone who came to those meetings, completed surveys, and attended community conversations in the year we’ve been gathering information to inform the Plan. We have heard from artists, cultural organizations, arts/culture supporters, businesses small and large, and residents from all corners of the community. Throughout the process, we have been hearing really useful insights about goals that the community wants to include the Freeport Cultural Plan and really interesting ideas for strategies to achieve them. It’s been a revealing process, and we thank everyone who has participated.
The effort continues as we work with Reinholt Consulting to draft the final plan document. There is work to be done to synthesize all we have heard and put it together into a Plan that reflects the aspirations of the community and offers an achievable path to achieve them, but we are confident we will have it done in time for an early-2018 release. In the meantime, visit http://reinholtconsulting.com/freeport/ to view interactive survey results and working documents that form the outline of the plan.
