Freeport Arts & Cultural Alliance is hosting a public meeting on September 25 at 6:30pm in the Freeport Middle School Gymnasium to present results from the recent public surveys and work together to craft goals and objectives to be included in the Freeport Cultural Plan. We learned some interesting things from the recent public survey. Everyone has a stake in a vibrant, thriving arts and cultural scene in Freeport. By sharing your thoughts at the September meeting, you will have a real impact on how we understand the information we have gathered so far and what specific recommendations will be included in the final plan.
With support from the Freeport Town Council and our community partners, the Alliance is leading an effort to craft a cultural plan that everyone can use to make good decisions about how to support, promote and grow Freeport’s arts and cultural offerings. We have been hard at work gathering information from the public, local businesses and organizations, local artists and performers, and community leaders. Reinholt Consulting is helping us translate that information into a robust plan. We hope to have the final draft completed and available to the public by the end of this year.
We welcome anyone with an interest in the future of Freeport’s arts & cultural community to join us in this work. We need your ideas, and we need your help reaching out to the whole community to get people to the September 25 meeting. Contact us at kiosk@FreeportArtsAndCulture.org to volunteer.
