Freeport Historical Society (FHS) encourages the sharing and enjoyment of the long history of Freeport, Maine. FHS actively preserves buildings, archival materials and artifacts of historical importance while encouraging similar efforts within the community; undertakes research and develops educational programs and exhibits which explore and interpret Freeport’s history; and encourages related community activities which keep our rich past present.

This spirited celebration of Freeport History will include live music, live and silent auctions, the now famous “wheel of chance,” local seafood, and local beer and spirits! Tickets are on sale now at Eventbright. Buy your tickets before May 31 for $45 per ticket. After May 31, tickets will be sold at $55 a ticket. Stewards at $250 please send a personal check to avoid transaction fees.

Freeport Historical Society's new exhibit Blacksmiths & Storekeepers: Freeport Village, Crossroads of Change, 1770-1920 highlights and interprets the changes in Freeport village over a century-and-a-half. Much of the change has been dramatic, hurried along by fires and the moving and razing of buildings. Exhibit runs May 24 through December of 2018.
