Arts and cultural events are a great way to celebrate our independence. After all, two of the many freedoms we enjoy are freedom of self-expression and freedom to celebrate the history and heritage that inform who we are as individuals and as a nation.
Besides, these events are a lot of fun.
- Check out the exhibits at Freeport Historical Society and Freeport Community Library.
- The LL Bean concert series opens on the 4th, before the fireworks, with Matt Anderson on stage at 7:30pm. LL Bean concerts are at the Discovery Park in the middle of their campus, and all are FREE.
- And of course the parade down Main Street is a cultural phenomenon you don’t want to miss, with school bands and other local performers strutting their stuff. It all kicks off at 10am at Kendall Drive and marches down to Holbrook St at the south end.
While you’re here, be sure to explore local shops — you never know what treasures you will find, created by local artists.
