Freeport Players returns to live, in-person, on-stage theater with the Agatha Christie murder mystery Black Coffee, featuring her iconic detective Hercule Poirot. Sir Claud Amory has invented a dangerous weapon, and the formula is missing. Then a murder occurs! The family members, guests, and staff gathered at the manor house all have motive and opportunity for theft and murder. Whodunit? The incomparable Belgian detective, Hercule Poirot, and his friend, Captain Hastings, arrive, and Poirot’s “little grey cells” are put to the test. While Poirot cleverly solves the mystery, he gallantly gives credit to Inspector Japp of Scotland Yard. With dashes of comedy and romance, Christie’s play creates a superb theater experience. Just the thing for a return to the stage after a long absence.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for ages 18 and under, available on the Freeport Players website.
MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED FOR ALL AUDIENCE MEMBERS, regardless of vaccination status. All cast and crew are vaccinated. Freeport Players urges all attendees to be vaccinated, as well. FPAC is a large theater of 500 seats, so distancing is easy. Concessions will be sold outdoors at intermission, for fresh air and a mask break. This is a difficult time for all. Health guidance is changing daily due to COVID-19 variants, and Freeport Players is committed to your health and safety. For now, The Show Will Go ON(Stage). However, if they must cancel the show, they will refund your ticket price. When you purchase tickets, you will receive a confirmation by email, and you will be added to their box office list.
