Bess Jacques & The Strays draw on a mix of vintage Americana, including beloved jazz standards from the American Songbook along with more modern, R&B-inspired tunes and originals. The trio’s musical offerings range from hard-swinging to honky-tonk, from lush ballads to blues, for a mix of sounds that is both classic and fresh. Bess Jacques leads the band on vocals and piano, joined by saxophonist Kate Campbell Strauss and Portland’s revered Per Hanson on drums and harmonica.
