Ghosts of Freeport’s Past
October 27 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
An event every day that begins at 6:30pm, repeating until October 27, 2018
The interred of Woodlawn Cemetery will provide Ghost Tours for all those present in the flesh. The Ghost host will greet you with a brief history of the cemetery and introduce you to friends who are haunting the cemetery. All apparitions will be portrayed by actors from Freeport Players, in period costume, who will materialize and share stories from their mortal state. Note: This event is historical, not scary, and is appropriate for school-aged children.
Tickets $12, $10 for Freeport Historical Society members, $5 for children 12 and under.
Tours at the cemetery will leave the gate at 6:30, 7:00 and 7:30pm. Advanced registration for cemetery tours is recommended since each tour will be limited to 15-20 people so everyone can get in close to hear the ghosts speak. In the event of inclement weather on 10/25, 10/26 or 10/27, one evening show will take place at 7pm at First Parish Church, 40 Main Street. Online registrations for all three cemetery tours that evening will be honored and tickets will be available at the door.
An indoor matinee performance will take place on Sunday, October 28, at 3:30pm at the First Parish Church on Main Street. Tickets to the indoor performance are available online and at the door.
NOTE: Several of this year’s ghosts are key figures in Freeport Historical Society’s current exhibit, Blacksmiths & Storekeepers 1770-1920.
