An event every day that begins at 6:30pm, repeating until October 28, 2017
Freeport Historical Society and Freeport Players join forces for tours of one of Freeport’s oldest cemeteries: the Old Parish Burying Ground. Hear about Freeport’s early history from some of the men and women who settled the town, including Dorothy Bagley, Phebe Thayer Cummings, Rev. Samuel Veazie, Ambrose Talbot, Elizabeth Mitchell Soule, George Bartol, Seward Porter and more.
NEW THIS YEAR: We have scheduled an indoor tour for folks who are worried about walking on uneven ground at night, and we are making arrangements to move indoors if it rains.
October 26 – 6:30pm at Freeport Congregational Church (Main St)
7:30pm at Old Parish Burying Ground
October 27 – 6:30pm & 7:15pm at Old Parish Burying Ground
October 28 – 6:30pm, 7:15pm and 8pm at Old Parish Burying Ground
Bring flashlights to Old Parish Burying Ground tours for your safety and dress warmly for the crisp fall night air.
This event is extremely popular and tours are limited to 15 per group. Advance tickets are recommended! Participants may make reservations online or call 207-865-3170.
The event is more historical than scary and is appropriate for school-age children.
