The Grassholes
March 12, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm
$12 – $15
(3/12) Back porches. Parking lots. Living rooms. By the side of wood stoves and in the corner of an old barn. In bars and restaurants and up on a rickety stage. The Grassholes play music mostly because its a lot of fun and there ain’t much else better to do and they do it just about anywhere you’ll let em.
Part of a long legacy of performers that goes back to 2000, the Grassholes currently feature Heather Kahill on fiddle, Merrill Marsh and Sam Pfeifle on guitars, Flann OBrien on the stand-up bass, and Field Rider on banjo and harmonica. Everybody sings a bit here and there, whether you like it or not.
From racing fiddle tunes and old-time Monroe classics to Dead jams and ballads, the Grassholes borrow and steal from the best of them, mixing in original compositions with unique arrangements of traditional works sometimes even a song written in the current century. It might be hard to listen without a porch swing or a glass of lemonade or a sundress that clings to the front of your legs, but youll just have to give it a try.
