Yet More to Love (Reception)
May 20 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Artist Dorothy Glendinning was a fixture in Freeport’s arts scene from the ’80s to the ’00s. Though many knew her for her stunning set designs for Freeport Players and other theaters in Southern Maine (usually built by her husband David), Dorothy was an accomplished fine artist as well. Dorothy worked mostly in acrylics and collage on cradled panels. Her work was abstract but in direct response to the natural world around her – the sea, the woods, the fields around their Freeport farm, and her favorite lake in Vermont. Her works were shown at 3fish gallery in Portland and Broadfoot & Broadfoot in Boonton, New Jersey.
Meetinghouse Arts Gallery will be open May 20 & 21 10am – 5pm and May 22 noon-4pm. The public is invited to an opening reception on May 20 5-7pm. A portion of the sales goes to Arts & Cultural Alliance of Freeport to continue their work in bringing arts and cultural opportunities to a community Dorothy loved.
David and family are pleased to bring Dorothy’s work to Greater Portland for all to enjoy. Help us spread the word about this special show! Please forward this email, and if you are on Facebook, please visit our event page to join the event and invite friends.
