Freeport Historical Society's new exhibit Blacksmiths & Storekeepers: Freeport Village, Crossroads of Change, 1770-1920 highlights and interprets the changes in Freeport village over a century-and-a-half. Much of the change has been dramatic, hurried along by fires and the moving and razing of buildings. Exhibit runs May 24 through December of 2018.
Freeport Community Library will feature Janet Lawrence’s meditative watercolors for the month of October. Throughout her life, Lawrence has always loved the arts. As a child, she drew the cartoons she watched on TV. She constantly sketched people or things around her. After graduating high school, she pursued an Art Degree at Daytona Beach Community College, and then transferred to the University of North Florida where she received a Bachelor's of Fine Arts Degree. The Arts & Cultural Alliance of Freeport (ACAF) Board of Directors meets regularly to discuss and coordinate the work of the Alliance. The Board's current focus is the Freeport Cultural Plan. Their meetings are open to anyone interested in rolling up their sleeves and helping with the work. At this month's meeting they are focusing on ACAF's organizational structure, setting up the working groups and committees that will help ACAF work with the community to implement the Freeport Cultural Plan.

A Maine tradition since 2003, the Camp Sunshine Pumpkin Festival transforms the streets of Freeport and L.L. Bean Campus into a sea of orange. Join us as we light nearly 10,000 jack-o-lanterns around Freeport.
