Blues Prophets are a Blues band from Maine formed in the 70's! They've played with Muddy Waters, Koko Taylor, Prof. Longhair, Pinetop Perkins...and more! The Blues Prophets began as The New England Blues Prophets rehearsing in the basement of a house in Norridgewock, Maine, in 1976, where they were introducing local audiences to a new music genre. South Freeport Church's annual summer blueberry festival features a crafters and artisans marketplace, activities for kids, Friday night dinner and outdoor concert, and of course lots of blueberry treats and a blueberry pancake breakfast. Lutenist Timothy Burris returns to the Library with a program of French music for lute and theorbo for the second half of the 17th century. Included are works by Ennemond Gaultier (also known as Vieux Gaultier), Charles Mouton, François Dufaut and Robert de Visée, among others. Dr. Burris has been a Freeport resident since 2013 and is on the faculties of Colby College and the Portland Conservatory of Music.
