Please join us for our 21st Annual Spring Concert featuring our 70+ auditioned singers from 3rd to 12th grades. Our singers hail from over twelve area towns including Freeport, Bath, Falmouth, Yarmouth, Durham, Phippsburg, Pownal, Portland and more. Our singers will perform a number of pieces, both modern and classical, including "America," Shenandoah," "Loch Lomond," :Elijah Rock," "Ancient City," Mo Ghile Mear," and more. Concert will last about an hour, with a reception to follow.

Freeport Historical Society Annual Meeting

After a brief business meeting to celebrate the their 50th Anniversary, elect trustees, and present annual awards, the Annual Meeting of the Freeport Historical Society will feature a presentation by Maine State Historian Earle Shettleworth, Jr. The presentation, "Roadside Freeport" uses historic postcards to tell the story of Freeport from the 1920s to 1950s. Refreshments will be served before the meeting. As automobile tourism expanded after World War I, overnight cabins, restaurants, and souvenir shops developed along Maine’s Route I.…

Freeport High School's advanced theater class performs A Piece of My Heart by Shirley Lauro. This dramatic piece tracks the lives of six women and their experience during and after the Vietnam War. A musician, Navy Nurse, Army Intelligence Officer, Army Nurses, and a member of the Red Cross show what it was like to be on the field in the middle of the action and what it was like after they came home.  This play is for mature audiences…

The Greater Freeport Community Chorus will present “Missa Kenya and Songs Inspired by Africa” in concerts May 4 and 5 in Brunswick and Yarmouth. The centerpiece of the concert will be a performance of the five-movement “Missa Kenya,” a setting of Mass texts. The piece was written by American composer Paul Basler after he spent a sabbatical year at a Nairobi, Kenya, university. He writes in the forward to the composition that it fuses Kenyan musical styles with 20th century…
