Freeport Community Library will feature the acrylic landscapes of Freeport resident Jan Brackett for the month of June. Jan was inspired to paint in the mid-70s after seeing painted rocks in a Mid Coast gift shop. She began painting rocks as gifts for family and friends. In the 80s, she moved to painting on canvas, showing and selling some of her work at local sidewalk art sales, including Portland, where she had the most success. Jan prefers to paint realistic…

Calling all history buffs! Len Kalkwarf will be at Freeport Community Library on Wednesday, June 20 to talk about his travels and his book, Exploring the Libraries of the US Presidents. From 6:30-7:30PM, learn about the various presidential libraries across the country maintained by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). The Hogwarts House Party continues with a special screening of the 2016 film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Come to Freeport Community Library on Harry Potter Day dressed up in your best witch and wizarding robes to show your house pride!
